Turn off Netflix Auto Previews/Autoplay on Roku

Netflix users on Roku have complained on Reddit that they are unable to disable the autoplay function. The autoplay continues to play even after you disable it. I asked my friend if he had the same issue.

We found that you can easily resolve this problem by following these steps. In this post, I’ve rounded up all the steps you need to disable Netflix autoplay/previews on Roku.

Disable Netflix Autoplay on Roku

You can easily disable the auto previews or autoplay from the Netflix website. This option is only available on the Netflix website not on the app. To disable autoplay you can follow the steps below.

  1. Open a browser and visit Netflix.com
  2. Click the profile and parent controls option.
  3. Go to playback settings.
  4. Uncheck the box for disabling previews.
  5. Now save these settings.

Now the autoplay is disabled for shows or movies, but the preview will still play on the show or movie detail page.

Netflix Autoplay Not Disabling on Roku

Many users have reported that Netflix previews are still auto-playing after disabling from Netflix.com. But don’t worry you can fix this problem by restarting your roku.

  1. Go to roku home screen.
  2. Select the settings option.
  3. Now select system option.
  4. Select system restart option.

After restarting the roku, launch the Netflix app and check if the autoplay is disabled.

  • First, go to the home screen.
  • On your remote press the home button 5 times.
  • Then up once.
  • Rewind the button twice.
  • Fast forward button twice.

Now your roku will restart in a couple of minutes. Once the roku is restarted you can launch and use the Netflix on your device without any issues.
