Amazon Prime Video Stuck on Loading Screen

I really like watching shows and movies on prime video. Recently, when I launched the prime video app on my tv it was just stuck on the loading screen. I tried some basic steps that didn’t worked for me.

So I went online and read about this issue on forums of amazon and contacted their team reading this loading problem. They suggested some fixes, and fortunately they worked for me. After the research I was able to get past prime video loading screen in a couple of minutes.

In this post I’m going to share what you can do to fix amazon prime video stuck on loading screen issue.

Quickly Fix Prime Video Stuck on Loading Screen

If your prime video is not getting past loading screen, then you can fix this problem by relaunching the app, force stopping and clearing the cache and data or prime video app, power cycle of tv and router can fix prime video loading issue. Hard Reset Prime Video on Smart TV

Our smart TVs are not always so smart, sometimes a simple technical glitch can stop applications from running properly on your smart tv. Such glitches can also be a reason behind prime video being stuck on loading screen. In such scenarios, your smart tv needs a refresh. You can follow the steps below for hard resetting your smart tv.

  1. Exit from Amazon prime video and turn off your smart tv.
  2. Now, unplug the cord from the power socket and press the power button for 15-30 seconds.
  3. Also, unplug your router for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Lastly, plug the cord back to the power socket and turn on the TV and your wifi router. Launch prime video and check whether this helps or not.

Restart the other device 

If you’re facing this issue on another device then try to restart them also, like if you’re facing this issue on an android tv then you can follow the above steps, and if you’re facing this issue on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop then simply restart your desired device by choosing the restart option.

Note: In the meantime of restarting the device, unplug the router/modem and turn it on after 10-15 minutes if you’re using any.

Is Prime Video Down?

Clear the cache and data

Sometimes old cached data can be a reason behind such streaming issues. If your prime video is stuck on the spinning circle then follow the steps below to clear the prime video cache on different devices.

Android TV/Smartphone/Tablet

  1. Take the exit from the amazon prime video application and go to the settings of your android device.
  2. Go to the apps section, locate the prime video application and open it.
  3. Now, go to the force stop option and clear the cache and data of your android device.

Fire TV Stick

  1. Take a leave from the prime video and go to the Home Screen of your fire tv stick.
  2. Navigate to the Settings by using your fire tv stick controller.
  3. And, then go to the Applications and locate managed installed applications option.
  4. The list of installed applications will open, now go to the Prime video and clear the data and cache of the prime application by selecting the options one by one.

Roku

  1. Go to the Home Screen of Roku and use the 5122 methods to clear the cache of your Roku.
  2. Press the Home button five times then press the UP navigation button once then press the Left Rewind button twice and lastly press the Right forward button twice. This is the 5122 method.
  3. It will take some seconds and your device will restart automatically. Once your device restarts go to your settings and connect to a network if your device isn’t connected to any network.
  4. Lastly, open the prime video and check whether the stuck screen issue persists or not.

Check for your Network connectivity

If you’re still facing the issue then there are some chances that there is some problem with your internet connectivity, first of all, check your modem and router that they are properly connected or not. Tighten up all the loose wires (if any) and place them near your device. After this, open a browser on your smartphone and test your internet speed on www.speedtest.com, if you’re getting a good speed then maybe your internet doesn’t have any issue. And if you’re not getting a good speed then call your internet service provider immediately and ask them to fix it asap.

Reinstall Prime Video on Your Device

Reinstallation of the prime video app is one of the common fixes if you’re stuck on the loading screen. Deleting then re-adding the prime video app will eliminate any glitch which is causing the problem. Below we’ve mentioned the steps for reinstalling the prime video app on a different device.

Smart Tv 

  1. First of all, Uninstall the prime video app from your smart tv. You can simply uninstall the prime video by entering into edit mode or you can just go to the prime video and remove it from there as well.
  2. Once you uninstall the Prime video app, restart your smart tv and connect to your network.
  3. And, go to App Store from where you can download the applications and search the Prime video or Amazon prime video and install it from there.
  4. After installing the app, open it – log in with your credentials.

Android TV/Smartphone/Tablet

  1. Uninstall the Prime video application and restart your android device and 
  2. Open play store and search Amazon prime video and install it from there.
  3. Once the prime video is installed, log in to your account and try to play any show or movie to check whether the stuck screen is there or not.

iOS

  1. Go to the Home Screen of your iOS device and tap and hold the prime video app icon or tap and hold the space.
  2. Now, tap on X and delete the prime video app from your device.
  3. Restart your device and after restarting the device go to the app store and install the prime video app for there.
  4. Log in to your account by entering your credentials.

Fire Tv Stick

  1. Take an exit from the prime video and go to the Home Screen of your fire tv stick.
  2. Navigate to the Settings by using your fire tv stick controller.
  3. And, then go to the Applications and locate managed installed applications option.
  4. The list of installed applications will open, now go to the Prime video and select the Uninstall to delete the prime video app.
  5. Now, go back to the Home Screen and navigate to the Apps.
  6. Press the Microphone button and say this command “search Prime Video” application.
  7. Install the application and log in to your account.

Roku

  1. First, of all, go to the Amazon Prime video channel and press the asterisk/star button given on the Roku controller. This will open the options list.
  2. Go to the Remove channel and your prime video will be deleted, Restart your device.
  3. After restarting the device, go to the Home Screen of Roku and navigate to the right.
  4. Now, go to the Add channels option and then go to the search channel bar.
  5. Enter Prime video and press on Add channel option, it will take some seconds (depends on your network speed) and after a while, the prime video channel will be added to your Home Screen. Open the prime video and log in to your account.

Samsung tv

If you’re a Samsung tv owner, then go to apps and locate and select the prime video. Now select the option reinstall. When the reinstall completes restart your Samsung tv by pressing and holding the power button. Now launch prime video on your Samsung smart tv and check if you’re able to get past the loading screen or not.

If you’re still unable to get past the prime video loading screen or logo, then you need to contact amazon for help. You can explain your issue to prime video team for help. You can also try contacting your device manufacturer for help with this issue.
