How to use LG TV without a remote?

And today, I am going to explain how to use LG TV without a remote.

Well, you can control your LG TV using the buttons located on your TV’s bottom, left or right panel. Or, you can install LG ThinQ app on your smartphone, pair it with your TV and start controlling your LG TV.

Using LG ThinQ (formerly LG TV Plus)

Using LG ThinQ, users have access to all LG electronic appliances and machines in the house. The app lets users integrate LG products into one ecosystem and control them from a single source.  Follow the below steps to control your LG Smart TV using the LG ThinQ app;

If LG ThinQ isn’t installed on your smartphone, then download the LG ThinQ app via Google Play Store or App Store on your smartphone 

Step 1: Install LG ThinQ 
  • Turn on your LG Smart TV, then connect your LG Smart TV and LG ThinQ to the home or  same internet connection.
  • Now, launch the LG ThinQ app.
Step 2: Connect LG ThinQ to LG TV
  • Tap the + Add a Device button at the top of your phone’s screen.

  • Next, either select Scan QR or Select Device”.

  • On the next screen, select “TV” from the list. Now, the app should start searching for the nearby TVs and will provide you with a list of available TVs near you.

  • Select your TV from the list. A verification code will appear on your TV screen, you need to enter this Code on your LG ThinQ app. Tap on “Done” after entering the Code.
Step 3: Start Controlling your LG TV using ThinQ controls

After this, a remote control interface will appear on your LG ThinQ app. Tap on the Power button on the LG ThinQ’s remote interface to see whether the controls are working properly.

Using TV Panel Buttons

You can control your LG Smart TV or old LG TV by using the buttons located on the Panel of your TV. On most LG TVs you can find Power, navigation, source/input, volume up/down buttons. Using these buttons you can control your LG TV with ease.

Here are some simple steps to follow: but, first turn on the TV and the Xbox, then follow these steps:

  • Open Settings, then click on TV and OneGuide Menu.
  • Now, select the Device Control option.
  • Select your TV Brand – LG.
  • Next, click on Automatic and then choose Send Command. Doing this will mute your TV.
  • Select Yes once your TV is muted.
  • After that, press the B button on your controller and, then select Power Settings.
  • At last, choose “Xbox One turns on and turns off my devices.”

Now, you can turn on/off and change the volume of your LG TV using the Xbox One controller.
