To raid someone on Twitch, type /Raid ‘channel name’ you want to raid into your Chat. Then, click on the Raid Now or wait until the countdown ends. And, you have successfully raided a channel on Twitch.
Before starting a raid inform your viewers with a chat message that you’re are going to raid a channel with them.
To start the raid on twitch follow these steps below;
- Login into Twitch with your username and password.
- Click on the Green profile icon from the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the Channel option.
- Now you’ll see the stream chat section on the right side of the screen. In the chatbox type /raid with the name of channel, you want to raid and press enter.
For example – If you want to raid a channel name droidtheory type /raid droidtheory. After executing /raid command you’ll see a countdown of 10 seconds with a message number of viewers are ready to raid the channel that you’ve decided to raid.
You’ll get the options of canceling the raid and raid now. If you want to cancel the raid you can type /unraid in the chatbox before the countdown ends or by clicking on the cancel button.
- When you use /raid your viewers will receive a message that they are joining the raid. Viewers will get the option to leave raid by clicking on the “leave” button.
- After the end of countdown, you can click on the Raid now button to start the raid.
When you click on raid now the channel and the viewers of that channel that you’ve decided to raid will receive a message that XYZ channel is raiding with a party of [number of viewers].
After clicking on raid now you and your viewers are sent to the channel that you are raiding
- When your raid starts your channel automatically starts hosting the content of the channel that you are raiding.
In this way, other users will have the option to watch the content from the channel that you raided.
How to Check Recent Raids on Your Channel
Follow these steps below to check which channel raided you:
- Click on the green profile icon from the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the channel option.
- Now Click on the gear [ chat settings ] icon next to the chat button.
- Click on the “review recent raid” to check the recent raids on your channel. You can also block a recent channel or report them by clicking on the option available next to the channel name.
How to manage the incoming raid
You can control incoming raid on your channel from dashboard settings. To manage raid coming to your channels follow these steps below:
- Click on the green profile icon from the top right corner of the screen.
- Now click on settings.
- Click on Channel and videos options.
- Scroll down to the bottom you’ll find raids sections. Here you’ll get the option to manage incoming raids from other channels. You’ll get three options: Allow all raids, allow raids from friends, teammates, and followed channel only, Block all raid.
How to Restrict Raids Chat with Follower Only Chat Option
In case you want to block incoming raiders from messaging in the chatbox. You can block those raiders from messaging with the help of follower only chat option. To enable this option follow these steps below
- Click on Profile and then click on the Channel from the list.
- Now click on Chat settings (gear icon next to chat button).
- Click on Followers- chat only option, here you’ll get the option to select how much time one should follow you before they can message in the chatbox.
