How to Put Echo Dot in Pairing Mode

You’d want to put your echo dot in pairing mode while setup or when giving it to someone else. A few days ago I decided to give my echo dot to one of my friends. 

I was not sure how to put echo dot in pairing mode or if there is any way to put it in pairing mode. I visit amazonforum and contacted Amazon, they helped me in putting the echo dot in pairing mode.

How do I put Alexa in pairing mode?

You can put echo dot in pairing mode using the Alexa app. You can also say “pair Alexa, blue or pair echo dot”. How echo dot pairing work?

Some users are not sure how echo dot pairing works. Don’t worry I’ll explain it. Echo dot uses the inbuilt Bluetooth to pair with your mobile, laptop, and any other Bluetooth-supported devices.

Once the echo dot is connected to the device you can use it as a smart wireless speaker. Or you can simply use explain for sound output only.

You can also connect your echo dot to any other speaker with higher sound output. After doing that echo dot will use the secondary speaker for sound output.

After connecting your device to the echo dot, you can reconnect your echo dot to the previously connected device by saying “pair, Alexa or Alexa, Bluetooth”. Using these commands you can reconnect your devices.

To pair a device to an echo dot follow the steps below.

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth of the device you want to connect to the echo dot.
  2. Open the Alexa app on your android or ios device.
  3. Now select the devices option.
  4. Select echo & Alexa.
  5. Select the echo dot.
  6. Now select the Bluetooth devices option.
  7. Tap on pair a new device.
  8. Wait while Alexa is searching for devices.
  9. Now Pair your echo dot to the device.

How to Put Echo Dot in Pairing Mode Without App

You can also put echo dot in pairing mode if you don’t have the Alexa app. To put your echo dot in pairing mode without the app follow the steps below.

  1. Visit alexa.amazon.com using a browser on a laptop, desktop, or mobile device.
  2. Log in to your Amazon account.
  3. Select the settings option.
  4. Select the device you want to pair.
  5. Plug in the echo dot.
  6. Connect your echo to wifi.
  7. Now go to Bluetooth settings and pair the device.

You can also connect your echo dot to fire stick. Follow the steps below to connect your echo to wifi.

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Select more.
  3. Select settings.
  4. Tap tv & video.
  5. Tap on fire tv.
  6. Now select your Alexa device.
