How to Fix Chromebook No Picture Issue

Check the power cable and charges
If the power cord or charger of the Chromebook is damaged or not properly connected then you can face Chromebook black screen problem. If the power cable is connected properly to Chromebook then your battery will die and your Chromebook will turn off. Due to battery drain, your Chromebook won’t turn on and you’ll get no picture on the display.
First of all, check the power cable and charger for damage. If the cable or charger is damaged then you should fix or replace the wire and charger to resolve this problem.
Also check if the power cable is connected properly to the chromebook. If the power cable is loose then your Chromebook will not turn on. Unplug the wire from the Chromebook and from the power outlet. Now connect the power cable to the Chromebook and to the power outlet properly. This will fix the chromebook black screen issue.
Restart Your Chromebook
In some cases, you can fix Chromebook black screen issue by restarting it. If you are facing this issue then restart your Chromebook by following the steps below.
By power button
Use the power button on your Chromebook to turn it off. Now wait 5 minutes and turn on your Chromebook by pressing the power button. Now see if you are able to see anything on screen.
Remove the power cable
Turn off your Chromebook by pressing the power button. Unplug the power cable from the Chromebook and from the power socket. If possible then remove the battery from the laptop. Wait for 10 minutes and reseat the battery on Chromebook. Now properly connect the power cable to the Chromebook and power outlet. Turn on your chromebook and check if the black screen issue is resolved.
Check Chromebook Brightness
Chromebooks may experience black screen problems due to low brightness. In some cases, users reduced brightness by mistake, resulting in black screens.
If you are having trouble seeing anything on your Chromebook screen, adjust the brightness by pressing the screen brightness key. After tweaking the brightness, you should no longer have a Chromebook black screen issue.
Hard Reboot Chrombook
Hard reboot of the chrombook laptop can fix the black screen problem. You can easily hard reboot your chromebook by following the steps below.
- First, of all locate the power button.
- Connect your chromebook to the power.
- Now press and hold power on your chromebook for 10 seconds and wait for all the lights on the chromebook to turn off.
- Wait for 10 minutes.
- Now turn on your chromebook by pressing the power button.
Now check if the chromebook black screen issue is resolved.
Remove the USB devices and cables
Sometimes you can face chromebook black screen issue due to conflict with the devices connected to the laptop. You can easily resolve this problem by disconnecting USB devices from the chromebook.
After removing the USB cables or HDMI cables from the Chromebook laptop check if the no picture issue is resolved.
If the Chromebook is overheating then you can face many issues on your Chromebook. The black screen is one of the problems you can face due to overheating. Unplug your Chromebook from the power source and turn it off. Wait for 20 minutes (or more) to let the chromebook cool down. After the Chromebook has cooled down, turn it on and see if the black screen issue has been resolved.
Check Chromebook Battery
If the Chromebook battery is not charged or dead then you’ll face a black screen problem. Some Chromebooks come with removable batteries. If you have one remove and re-connect the battery on your Chromebook properly. Now turn on your Chromebook and check if the black screen issue is resolved.
If you don’t have a Chromebook with a removable battery then unplug the power cable from the socket. Wait for 5-10 minutes then connect your Chromebook to the power again. Turn on your Chromebook and see if it is working or not.
Tips: If your Chromebook charger is not working, then try using a new Chromebook charger. Connect your new charger to the Chromebook and turn it on. This can fix the chromebook’s black screen issue.
