If you own a Comcast Xfinity, you’ll be familiar with the X1 DVR. This flagship DVR offers some cool features and is quite convenient to use. However, what if your X1 keeps on rebooting? I’ve read reports from Comcast customers who have experienced this frustrating scenario, and they stated that the set-top box keeps refreshing itself randomly. No matter how many times they turn it off and reboot, the X1 keeps on rebooting.

There could be many reasons why this occurs. We’ll help you troubleshoot this problem and fix your X1 reboot problem.

Why is my X1 box keeps rebooting?

The Xfinity X1 box keeps rebooting for a variety of reasons. Below are some most probable causes for this issue;

  • Overheating: This is one of the most possible reasons why your Xfinity keeps on rebooting. To prevent your Xfinity X1 from overheating, place the X1 in a ventilated and cooler space.
  • Power-related problems: There were some instances where a power surge damaged the devices. This might be why your Xfinity box keeps on rebooting; to fix this, call a technician.
  • Signal issue: Your Xfinity X1 cable box may be receiving the Bad or Weak Signals, and this is why you’re getting the “Xfinity X1 keeps rebooting” issue. A loose connection or damaged cable can lead the cable box to bad or weak signals.
  • HDMI Cable Connection: You’re facing the Xfinity X1 keeps rebooting because the HDMI cable attached to your cable box and TV aren’t securely connected.

Leave Your TV Box

If rebooting the Tv box manually didn’t fix the issue, try to leave your X1 box turned on and shut down your TV. Plug it back into the wall outlet and wait for 10 minutes and check if the issue is resolved or not. If not,

Leave your TV and X1 Tv box off overnight and turn them on the following day and check whether this resolves the issue or not.

Change the HDMI Cable

As we stated in the causes section, if the HDMI cable attached to your TV box and Tv isn’t securely connected or damaged, you may encounter this issue on your X1 Tv box. So, to prevent this, check the condition of the HDMI cable and ensure that it’s securely connected.

If you don’t find any such issues with your HDMI cable, remove the cable and reinsert it back into the HDMI port and check whether this fixes the issue.

If you found any, your HDMI cable needs a replacement. Replace your HDMI cable with the new one or any other HDMI cable and connect it with your Tv box and TV and check if this fixes the issue.
