Xfinity Box Blinking Blue? Here’s The Way To Fix It

What does blinking blue light on the Xfinity box means?

It might be your loose or faulty cable connections or random bugs that weaken the signal strength and causing flashing/blinking blue light on your Xfinity cable box. 

How To Fix Xfinity Box Blinking Blue?

To get rid of blinking blue light, try soft or hard rebooting your cable box, using the Xfinity app to troubleshoot the box, verifying the cable connections, or moving or placing the Xfinity box to another location.

Also, you can try contacting Xfinity customer support to assist you. But, first, try out these simple fixes. 

Soft Reboot

Is the cable box flashing for a few minutes after you turn on the television and cable using the remote control? Does the blue light sometimes flash while watching a program or using the Xfinity box?

If so, it means your Xfinity cable box isn’t receiving a strong signal. But don’t worry; you can fix this by rebooting your cable box.

Here’s how to perform it;

  • Press the Power button on your Xfinity cable box.
  • Now, wait until the light turns to red.
  • After that, wait for 30 seconds.
  • And press the Power button again to turn on the Xfinity cable box. 

At last, start streaming a program and check if the light flashes or blinks blue.

Hard Reboot

If performing the soft reboot didn’t make any changes, try hard rebooting/resetting your Xfinity cable box. To do so;

  • Press the physical Power button to turn off the cable box.
  • Now, unplug the Xfinity cable box cord from the power outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • After that, plug the cord back into the wall outlet and turn on the cable box.

Check the Cable Connection

Firstly, ensure that all the cables are tightly/securely connected to your cable box, including the power cord.

System Refresh using the Xfinity My Account

Verified all the cables, but your Xfinity cable is still flashing/blinking you the blue light. Well, there’s one thing you can try for. 

Try performing the System Refresh using the Xfinity My Account application on your smartphone. 

Here’s how you can access it;

  • Launch the Xfinity My Account app on your device and sign in to your account (if asked).
  • Now, under the Overview section select TV > Troubleshoot > Continue.
  • And then, choose System Refresh > Continue. Do not turn off or unplug your cable box while performing it.
  • After a while, your cable box will be refreshed.

At last, select a program and start watching it. Check if blinking blue persists.

Try moving the Xfinity

If nothing is working out for you, try changing the location of your Xfinity cable box. Try placing the cable box in a ventilated area to receive a good signal.
