There are some more other features like eco mode which change the brightness of the Samsung tv display by assessing the brightness around it. How to fix Samsung TV Dim Screen or Dark Screen

Turn off eco sensor

Eco sensor adjusts the brightness of the TV display according to the light in your room. Disabling this feature can resolve the Samsung tv dimming issue. Disable the eco sensor by following the steps below

Samsung tv released in or before 2016

  1. Go to the system.
  2. Now select an eco solution.
  3. Now select the eco-sensor option
  4. From here you can disable the eco sensor.

For models released in or after 2017

  1. Go to settings.
  2. Now go to general.
  3. Select eco solution
  4. Select the ambient light detection option
  5. Now turn off eco sensor option.

After disabling the eco sensor, Samsung tv dim screen issue will be fixed.

Disable the contrast Enhancer

Another feature that can cause the Samsung tv dark screen problem is the contrast enhancer. You can disable the contrast enhancer from the settings of your Samsung tv. Follow the steps below-

  1. Go to the home screen.
  2. Now select the menu option.
  3. Select the settings option.
  4. Go to all settings.
  5. Select the picture option.
  6. Now select the expert settings.
  7. Turn off the contrast enhancer option.

Disable Brightness Optimization

Some Samsung tv comes with brightness optimization which adjusts the brightness due to surrounding light. You can disable this option in the settings by following the steps below.

  1. Go to the home screen.
  2. Go to the menu, select settings, and then select all settings.
  3. Select the general and privacy options.
  4. Select the power & energy saving option.
  5. Now select the brightness optimization option and disable it.

Tips: Go to settings>general>eco solution>energy saving mode then turn it off. After turning off power saving mode, check if the dimming issue is resolved.

Turn off brightness reduction

Turn off motion lighting

Motion lighting also saves power by lowering the brightness according to the movement on the Samsung tv screen. Due to this feature, you can face dimming or low brightness problems. You can easily turn off motion lighting by following the steps below.

  1. Go to the settings of your Samsung tv.
  2. Select the general and privacy options.
  3. Select the power and saving option.
  4. Now turn off motion lighting.

Power Cycle Your Samsung TV

Some users have reported resolving the dimming or brightness problem of Samsung tv by power cycling their tv. To power cycle, your Samsung tv follows the steps below.

  1. Turn off your Samsung smart tv using the remote.
  2. Now unplug your Samsung tv.
  3. Press and hold the physical power button for 15-30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 10 minutes.

  3. Select the expert settings.
  4. Now disable the HDR+ option.

  1. Go to settings.
