While watching a show on prime video recently, I noticed that prime video overlay was not going away. I tried some troubleshooting but that didn’t work so I went online and found that other users were experiencing the same issue. After some research online I was able to fix the problem of prime video overlays not disappearing.
In this post, I’m going to share some steps that will help in fixing the prime video controls not disappearing from the screen problem.
What to When Hulu Progress Bar is Not Going Away
Many people are facing this problem on the chrome browser. So first we’re going to discuss how to fix this problem on chrome browser on a laptop or a desktop.
- Play a show or movie.
- Now if the progress or controls are not disappearing then click on volume icon.
- Now again click on the volume icon.
- Play the video again.
Now after performing these steps progress bar will disappear from the screen.
Relaunch Chrome Browser
If the prime video controls are still on the screen and not going away, then try relaunching the chrome on your desktop or laptop. Follow the steps below.
- Close all the tabs and windows.
- Close the chrome browser.
- Now launch the chrome.
- Open prime video.
Now start playing a show or movie to see if the issue you were facing is resolved.
Prime Video Progress Bar and Controls Not Disappearing on PC Browser (Some Quick Fixes)
- Try refreshing the page.
- Move your cursor then move it away.
- Try pressing the capslock button.
- Try pressing the space bar for resuming the playback.
- Exit the full screen and see if this fixes the problem for you.
What to Do If Prime Video Controls Are Not Disappearing on Smart TV
Except browser users are facing this problem on their smart tv. So we’ve provided some steps that can help you in fixing this problem on your smart tv.
Restart Your Smart TV
You can fix this problem by restart your smart tv or streaming device.
- Press the power button on your smart tv or device.
- Select power off.
- Now turn on your tv or device.
- Launch prime video and check if the issue is resolved or not.
Power cycle
In this process we’ll restart the tv by unplugging it from the wall.
- Turn off your smart tv.
- Unplug it from the wall.
- Press and hold the physical power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Wait for 5-10 minutes.
- Now plugin your smart tv and turn it on.
- Launch prime video.
Now check if the prime video overlay is function as it should or not.
Reinstall The Prime Video App
If the prime video overlay is not going away, then you can fix this issue by reinstalling the prime video app. Follow the steps below-
- Uninstall the prime video app.
- Restart your device.
- Install the latest version of prime video app and check if the issue issue.
Now check if the overlay issue you were facing is resolved or not.
Pro tips: If the prime video overlay is still not working, then close the prime video app and any other app running in the background. Now launch the prime video and paly the show or movie you want to watch. The prime video overlay should now disappear as expected.
Update Prime Video App
Some PlayStation and smart tv owners have reported that, this issue was resolved after updating their prime video app. So if the prime video overlay is still not going away then try updating the app by following the steps below.
- Go to playstore or app store on your device.
- Search for prime video app.
- Now update it to latest version.
Now launch prime video and check if the issue is resolved or not.
Pro Tips: You can also resolve this issue by clearing the cache and data of the prime video app. To do this go to the settings of your device. Locate applications option, now search and select the prime video app. Go to storage section and clear the cache and data of the application. Launch the prime video and login to your account, the overlay issue should now be resolved.
