Paramount Plus Not Working On Xfinity X1

Restart your Paramount Plus

If you’ve already tried restarting your paramount plus app, then restart it once again. And, if you’ve done this yet, try it now. Doing this will clear and remove the minor glitches and bugs from the app. To do so,

  1. Take the exit from the Paramount Plus app on your Xfinity X1.
  2. Now, wait for 60 seconds.
  3. And relaunch it and check if the paramount plus app starts working.

Check for an outage

Visit speedtest.net to check what speed you’re getting and try streaming some video, show, or movie on another streaming app. If it buffers, then troubleshoots your router and modem; try reducing the distance between the router and Xfinity X1 or connect your Xfinity X1 via Ethernet cable.

Restart your Router/Modem

Are you getting a low or unstable internet connection? In this case, try restarting your router/modem. Doing this will refresh your network connection and may fix your issue. To do so, 

  1. Turn off and unplug your router/modem from the power source.
  2. Now, wait for 2 minutes. If your router/modem has a power button, then try to press and hold it for 3-5 seconds.

Make sure that your router is not far away from the Xfinity Device. If it is, try to keep your router/modem closer to your Xfinity X1. Distance between your Xfinity device and router should not be less than 20 feet. 

Also, ensure that there are no electronic devices (such as microwave and baby monitor) between your router/modem and Xfinity X1. 

Connect your Xfinity via Ethernet Cable

As we’ve discussed, a weak or unstable internet connection leads to various issues. To prevent this, try to use an ethernet cable. Ethernet cables are faster, stable and provide better connectivity. 

So, connect the ethernet cable with your Xfinity X1 and check if this resolves the “Paramount Plus Not Working on Xfinity X1”. 

Try Clearing the Cookies & Local Storage Data

There were some instances where removing/deleting the app’s stored data could fix the streaming-related issues. So, try clearing the cookies & local storage data. To do so,

  1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy.

Restart your Xfinity

Update your Xfinity

Is your Xfinity X1 running on an outdated software/firmware version? If so, try updating to its latest release. A new update comes with fixed bugs, glitches, and new features and improves the device’s functionality. 

Xfinity X1 and other models get updates automatically. As long as your Xfinity X1 is connected to the internet, it will get the updates.
