- Foam or suds at the bottom of the Dishwasher
How do I fix the KitchenAid Dishwasher?
Is your KitchenAid dishwasher blinking cleaning light? Don’t worry; you can fix this problem by Checking sud containment, Hard resetting the Dishwasher, Checking the heating element, Checking the drain pump, Running a diagnostic check on your Dishwasher and Contacting the KitchenAid.
Check for Foam/Suds
When you use the dishwasher for a long time, and you don’t clean it, then you will find there are some suds in the dishwasher and which creates a problem; if suds are present, then follow the steps given below.
- Take a cup and scoop out the suds as much as you can.
- Run a dishwasher without adding detergent.
- Remove the dishes from the dishwasher and add some cooking oil to them so they can be suppressed.
- Fill the dispenser with detergent and run it with a full cycle.
Restart the Board of Control
In a dishwasher, there is a board of control that controls all the features of the dishwasher, but sometimes due to overload, it starts flashing a clean light. To fix this problem, you can reset your dishwasher.
- Unplug the dishwasher from the power source.
- Leave it for 30 seconds.
- Plug back into the power source.
- Press the cancel button to clean the cycle.
Check the Heating Element
One of the reasons for your dishwasher blinking clean light is due to the faulty heating element of your dishwasher, and for that reason, water is not reaching the desired temperature, so the dishwasher isn’t able to wash the dishes properly.
You can take the help of a multimeter to make sure that the heating element is working properly.
If you find there is a problem with the heating element, then check if you have the warranty, then replace it for free otherwise, change with the new one.
Check the Drain Pump
The drain pump helps to remove the wasted water from the dishwasher, but if it is not working properly, then it means there is some problem with the drain pump, and hence the dishwasher blinks the clean light.
You can check your dishwasher by opening the dishwasher piston and nut assembly and checking if the assembly should move up and down freely.
Run a Diagnostic on KitchenAid Dishwasher
To find the problem in the KitchenAid dishwasher, you will require to run a diagnostic menu.
In most dishwasher models, it has to start by pressing the cancel and start/pause buttons simultaneously.
As you enter the diagnostic menu, you can choose to start a run.
