How do I fix the eBay app that keeps on crashing?

To stop eBay from crashing, head to the eBay application and tap on the Uninstall option. Once the app uninstalls, navigate to the Application store on your smartphone and reinstall the eBay app, and you’ll see the crashing issue is resolved now.

Force Stop and Restart the App

The first move to stop eBay from crashing is to force stop and relaunch it. Here’s how you’ve to do it;

On Android;

  • Head to your Android device Settings and scroll to the Apps section.
  • Now, locate eBay in the list and select Force Stop.
  • After force-stopping, relaunch the eBay app and start using it to see if this fixes the issue.

Clear Cache and Data

On Android;

Restart the Smartphone/Tablet

If the crashing issue on your eBay app persists, there’s one thing you can try for. Try restarting the device on which your eBay is crashing. Doing this will clear the random minor bug or glitches that are stopping the app from working properly.

  • Navigate to the Google Play Store and search for eBay.
  • If there’s an Update option next to eBay, then tap on it.
  • And launch the eBay app once it’s updated to the latest version.

On iOS;

  • Navigate to the App Store and search eBay.

  • And launch the eBay app once it’s updated to the latest version.

After updating the eBay app to the latest version, launch the app and start using it to see if it crashes or not.

Is eBay down?

The next thing you’ve to do is, check the server status of eBay. There might be some issue with the servers of eBay, maybe the servers of eBay went under maintenance break, or there’s an outage. 

To check the server status, visit downdetector or isitdownrightnow and check if the servers of eBay are down. You can also check eBay’s social media handle to see if they’ve posted anything related to the maintenance break or outage. 

If there’s some outage or maintenance break, it will be fixed by the eBay team soon. 

Reinstall the eBay

If nothing works for you, try uninstalling and reinstalling the eBay app. To do so,

On Android;

  • Navigate to the eBay app, then tap and hold it.
  • Now, tap on Uninstall.
  • Afterwards, head to the Play Store, search for eBay and install it.

On iOS;

  • Navigate to the eBay app, then tap and hold it.
  • Now, tap on Remove App and then tap on Delete App.
  • Afterwards, head to the App Store, search for eBay and install it.

Tip: Before reinstalling the eBay app, check if there’s sufficient storage space available on your smartphone/tablet. If not, try clearing some storage space by uninstalling the unused apps or other data.

Contact eBay

If none of the steps worked for you, try contacting eBay support. Raise your concern on their support portal and ask them to provide you with a resolution to fix the eBay app crashing issue.
